Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Government Homoeopathic Medical College, Kozhikode is actively involved in academic, clinical, and research activities, providing a strong foundation for undergraduate students and a collaborative platform for postgraduate research.

Academic Activities: We conduct regular teaching programs for II BHMS and III BHMS students which include:
  • Theory classes
  • Clinical demonstrations
  • Tutorials
  • Case discussions
  • Seminars
These sessions are structured to build both theoretical knowledge and practical confidence among the students.

Clinical Training: Students are regularly posted in the Gynecology Outpatient Department (OPD), where they gain direct exposure to a wide variety of gynecological conditions.
  • OPDs function every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
  • A special OPD for male and female infertility is conducted on all weekdays, providing excellent clinical learning opportunities.
Internship Support: For intern doctors, we conduct regular clinical discussions focusing on sharpening diagnostic skills, case management, and patient communication — ensuring a smooth transition from theory to real-world practice.

Department Resources:
  • A well-organized museum housing a wide range of models, specimens, charts, and instruments to aid visual and practical learning.
  • A rich departmental library with a comprehensive collection of reference books in obstetrics and gynecology, accessible to students and faculty.
Research Platform: Although the department currently does not offer a postgraduate program, we actively support and encourage PG students from other Homoeopathic disciplines to carry out research projects related to obstetrics and gynecology.
