The Department of Organon of Medicine and Homoeopathic Philosophy has a rich legacy, shaped by the visionary leadership of several eminent academicians and practitioners. Over the years, the department has been led by distinguished professionals, including Dr. Easwo, Dr. Balachandran,Dr. Sukumara Ganakan,Dr. T.AbduRahiman, Dr. K.X. Joseph, Dr. Nisha Paul, Dr. Baghyalatha V.K., and Dr. Babu K.L., whose contributions have been instrumental in establishing its prominence in homoeopathic education and practice. Their dedication and expertise have laid a strong foundation, enabling the department to achieve its current stature as a center of excellence.
The department is a pioneer in homoeopathic education and training, offering state-of-the-art facilities and comprehensive academic programs:
  • The department is staffed with seven highly qualified faculty members, including one Professor, three Associate Professors, and three Assistant Professors.
  • It is one of the first departments in India to initiate a Postgraduate course in Homoeopathy, starting in 1992 with three seats. The intake capacity has progressively increased to six and now stands at eight seats.
  • The department offers the MD (Hom) in Organon of Medicine and Homoeopathic Philosophy, a prestigious postgraduate program aimed at cultivating advanced knowledge and expertise in the field.
Infrastructure
  • A well-equipped smart classroom with a seating capacity of 50 and modern multimedia facilities to enhance the learning experience.
  • A dedicated Postgraduate departmental library, providing a robust collection of resources to support research and education.
Clinical Services
  • The department operates a regular Outpatient (OP) clinic on all working days at the hospital, ensuring quality homoeopathic care for the community.
  • It runs a specialty project in Pain and Palliative Care, offering both outpatient and inpatient (IP) services, funded by the Government of Kerala.
  • Another specialty OP focuses on Lifestyle Diseases and Thyroid Disorders, providing targeted care and management for these conditions.
