GENERAL GUIDE LINES
- All inmates are required to maintain standards of behaviour expected from students of a Professional course. They are expected to behavecourteously and fairly with everyone both inside and outside the campus.
- Inmates are forbidden from misbehaving to any of the hostel staff /security personnel /other employees. Students are forbidden from making anypersonal dealings with the cleaners/part time sweepers /security personnel orother hostel employees.
- All inmates should behave with restraint and decorum. Shouting, readingaloud, other acts likely to cause disturbance to other inmates during hour’s ofstudy should be avoided.
- The rooms, common areas and surroundings should be kept clean andhygienic. Discarded materials and papers should not be thrown about in rooms, terrace and premises.
- The rooms, doors etc. should not be disfigured by writing, sticking posters etc.
- Students should not use non-bio degradable items such ascarry bags.
- ALL MEMBERS ARE EXPECTED TO BE IN THE HOSTEL BEFORE 9 .30 PM, UNLESS THEY HAVE OBTAINED A LATE PASS FROM THE WARDEN/ASST. WARDEN.
- Residents returning late to their hostels every day will be noted. The parents of such residents will be informed. Repeated offenders will have to face disciplinary actions and may even have to vacate the hostel in extreme cases.
- RESIDENT WHO NEEDS TO STAY OUT AFTER THE STIPULATED TIME MUST TAKE PRIOR PERMISSION FROM THE WARDEN / ASST. WARDEN IN ADVANCE .It is necessary to furnish the details like, their contact numbers, expected return time and their whereabouts during the allowed time.
- Students should bring to the notice of the hostel authoritiesfor allroutine maintenance works (Civil, Carpentry and Electrical) if any to be carriedout in their rooms.
- Members are not permitted to conduct meeting of any sort anywhere inthe hostel or its premises without obtaining permission from the Warden / Asst.Warden on written request.
- Activities like enlisting inmates for subscriptions and circulating noticesare not allowed except with the permission of the Warden / Asst. Warden.
- No student shall take active part in political meeting, procession orpropaganda in the hostel premises.
- STUDENTS WHO NEED TO GO HOME ON WORKING DAYS HAVE TO GET PERMISSION FROM THE WARDEN, FOR WHICH LEAVE LETTER HAS TO BE INITIATED FROM CLASS TEACHER AND FORWARDED VIA ASSISTANT WARDEN TO THE WARDEN. HOME PASS DURING PREPARATORY HOLIDAYS SHOULD BE FORWARDED TO THE WARDEN THROUGH ASST. WARDEN FOR SANCTIONING LEAVE.
- NO STUDENT SHALL ABSENT HERSELF/ HIMSELF AT ANY NIGHT FROM THE HOSTEL WITHOUT PREVIOUS PERMISSION OF THE ASST. WARDEN.THE APPLICATION FOR PERMISSION MUST STATE, THE DATE AND TIME OF HIS/HER INTENDED DEPARTURE AND RETURN,AS WELL AS THE DESTINATION.
- THE DATES AND TIME OF ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE ARE TO BE ENTERED BY HIM/HER IN THE BOOKS KEPT FOR THE PURPOSE IN THE HOSTEL
- Everyone should be physically present for day and night roll call.
- No unauthorized person will be allowed within the hostel premises.
- Every inmate should wear clean and modest dress .
- Everyone should keep the toilets & bathrooms always clean after use
- Discard the wastes properly in the areas specified for the same. Fine will belevied from all the inmates of that particular wing, if the toilet & bathrooms arefound untidy or blocked.
- As per legalperspective, ragging is a CRIMINAL AND NON BAILABLE OFFENCE.Display of noisy, disorderly conduct, doing any act which causes or is likely tocause physical or psychological harm or raise apprehension or fear, shame orembarrassment to a student including Teasing, abusing, of playing practicaljocks on or causing hurt to such student or asking the students to do any act orperform something which such student will not in ordinary course be willing todo will be treated as ragging.
- All the students are bond to report to the Warden/Assistant warden, anycase of ragging which comes to his/her notice.
- Smoking and consumption of alcoholic drinks and or narcotic drugs inthe Hostel premises is strictly prohibited. Students shall not enter the hostelpremises in an intoxicated state and should not possess such materials. If anystudent found violating this, severe actions like expulsion from Hostel orrustication from the Educational Institution shall be taken.
- Students shall not participate in any anti national, anti social or undesirable activity inside or outside the hostel campus.
- Students shall not indulge in practices/activities, which may endanger their own personal safety as well as others.
- Students are duty bond to report to the Assistant Warden in case theynotice any unwanted incident or undesirable activity in the Hostel or thepresence of any unauthorised person in the Hostel.
- Students are strictly advised not to leave any money or valuable in therooms. The hostel authorities do not hold themselves responsible for money orgoods lost by students
- The residents of the hostel are responsible for the safe keeping of theirpersonal belongings. Any case of theft should be reported promptly to theAssistant Warden
- Students leaving the hostel should pay all the dues before they vacate the hostel.
- All fans, light and electrical appliances must be switched off when not in use.
- Residents are not allowed to stay outside the hostel overnight for their own safety. Resident who needs to stay outside the hostel can be permitted only if their parents or local guardian are with them. For this, parents or local guardian must make a declaration of their purpose; furnish their contact details and expected returns date and time. This permission is to be obtained from the Warden.
- None other than the hostel inmates are allowed inside the hostel.
- In the event to attend various Institute events, Prefects are required to take permission on behalf of all the residents of the hostel. Late permission could be granted upto 10.00 p.m. depending on the schedule of the Institute event.
- Students requiring attending wedding, other social functions and going outstation will require permission from warden/Asst.warden four days prior, subject to receipt of written request for the same from parents of the student.
- Overnight stay in the friends’ or relatives’ houses will be allowed only with theprior written permission of parents/guardians of the hostler’s. The hostelauthorities will not be responsible for events happening outside the hostel due to the negligence of the student.
- All instructions /notices displayed on notice boards in the hostel will be deemed to have been read by all residents and excuses for noncompliance of rules and instructions put up from time to time will not be accepted.
- No notice will be displayed in the hostel notice board without the countersignature of hostel warden
- Day scholars are not allowed to enter the hostel.
- Use of Powered vehicles (except owned by the Institution) by inmates are not generally permitted. Any exemption to this requires permission from the Warden.
- No student is allowed to stay in the hostel during the working hours/class time except with the prior permission of the warden.
- The use of electrical appliances such as immersion heaters,electric stove / heaters / electric iron are forbidden in any ofthe rooms. Private cooking in the hostels/ student’s room is strictly forbidden. Such appliances, Iffound will be confiscated and a fine will also be imposed.
- Electricity and water charges;--Once got admission in the hostel all the inmates are liable to pay current bill, water bill and the establishment fee till the time they are vacating; irrespective of whether they are staying or not staying in the hostel.
- Withdrawals------1. Students who are living in the hostel and who wish to reside outside with their relatives must produce a letter from their parents or guardians authorizing them to do so before leaving the hostel. On no account should they leave the hostel before they are permitted to do so by the chief warden/ warden.
- Hostel accommodation will be provided only till the time of completion of course(4 1/2 years) for UG and 3 years for PG.
- Students are requested to avoid singing aloud, shouting or making all types of noiseswhich are likely to distract the attention of those who may be studying in their rooms.
- The Warden / Hostel administration or his representative may enter any room for verification at any time of the day or night.
- Students who wish to go to any place such as Railway station etc. for the late night/early hours flight/trains must take prior permission at least one day in advance from the Warden/Hostel administration. They should produce the written permission at the gate while leaving at late night/early morning hours.
- Any cyber crime, indiscriminate imaging with mobile camera or digital camera, MMS etc will be taken very seriously and actions shall be taken against residents found guilty of such activities and will be referred to the concerned authorities if found necessary.
- The residents shall not leave the hostel premises on holidays or working days for the purpose of excursion or picnic without prior permission of Cheif warden.
- During the days of declared holidays all inmates are requested to leave the hostel. If anyone needs to stay behind in the hostel, he/she showed get permission from the warden after the parents direct request.
- . In case of serious illness or contagious diseases a student may be asked to leave the hostel to stay with the local guardian /parent.
- A safe and pleasant stay in hostel depends on all co-operation and consideration of each and every resident of the hostel.
